LDLC - Long Distance Low Cost
Save Money on long distance calls

The telephone fee for the "classic" long distance call is charged for the full distance from the sender - to the recipient. The LDLC concept can lighten the cost of this burden.

LDLC is our abbreviation for "Long Distance Low Cost" and the feature enables you to send faxes via TCP/IP using a "LANTRONIX MSS 100 Universal thin Server".

This mean that BlueFax customers who had their iSeries (AS/400) in one location can be able to fax locally - from their office located in another country.

The figure illustrates a scenario where the iSeries (AS/400) (with BlueFax) is located in Denmark and the local sales offices is in USA, Brazil, South Africa, Australia.

Please note - The LDLC concept will for the time being only handle outbound fax.

To fax locally, all you need is:

The AS/400 at the home office:
  • BlueFax must be installed with minimum one fax line - pr. external office.
  • TCP/IP must be installed and active. You must be able to "ping" an IP-address at the each local sales office.
Each external office:
  • One "Lantronix MSS100 thin server" (Size 10 x 6 x 2,5 cm).
  • The Lantronix MSS100 must have access to the local network (normally via a HUB).
  • One IBM 7852-400 modem
    or
    One MultiTech MultiModem MT5600BA.
  • One telephone line pr. modem.
  • It is possible to install multiple TCP/IP fax lines from the same office.

For local availability, please check this page on www.Lantronix.com.
