SMS BlueNote Complete
Functionality includes the message functionalities from Access
and the System Monitoring feature from SMS BlueNote Basic but
it will on top on that also handle inbound SMS on the iSeries
or AS/400.
System monitoring:
SMS BlueNote can monitor the message queue on the iSeries
(AS/400) and automatically transmit system messages to the
system operator's GSM mobile phone. The system operator will
always be able to follow the phases of a job on evenings,
nights and weekends, without being near a workstation.

prioritized by message queue, severity level and
individual tailoring.

SMS BlueNote can monitor every
movement and process on your iSeries (AS/400). You can monitor
system messages, message queues, message files, job, user
profiles and you can also make a conditioned monitor session.
All those events can be sent as SMS messages to the GSM
phone of the iSeries (AS/400) operator on duty.
SMS User Message handling:
SMS BlueNote is a product designed to help you maintain
up-to-the-minute contact with field-based personnel. It
provides a mobile extension to the iSeries (AS/400) message
services normally available to these staff by routing messages
to the SMS facility on their GSM mobile phone.
- Messages can be sent to
individuals, or to user groups.
- Message dispatch can be
controlled by date and time.
- Complete integration with mail
systems, such as Lotus Notes. Mail and messages can be
supervised and transmitted to the GSM mobile phone.
- SMS BlueNotes own job log
provides a complete status on messages sent.
- SMS BlueNote can be integrated
with other message systems such that messages are delivered to
the desk or to the phone according to the location of the
user. This is practical, if the user leaves his desk
frequently. The user controls the method of contact.
Alarm:
All types of telephones can be alerted if serious system
errors should occur. The SMS BlueNote system permits serious
messages, like power failure, disc-crash, etc. to be flagged
by raising an alarm by calling a lind-line telephone. SMS
BlueNote will call any telephone if programmed to do so. When
the land-line telephone is answered a three note alarm tone is
heard. This should be enough to attract your attention to the
message on your GSM mobile phone or to your iSeries (AS/400).

email or as a Break message:
All the system messages that are sent as SMS to the operator
on duty - can also be sent as email to his email address. This
feature requires a "SMSMail" that is an add-on module
for SMS BlueNote.
SMS BlueNote will also deliver a Break message that equals the
SMS. This can be practical when the system operator is spending
his time in front of his iSeries terminal.
Use
SMS to trigger programs:
You can also use the SMS function on your GSM phone to execute
programs and functions on your iSeries & AS/400.
Example 1
A haulage contractor must wait until a signed delivery note is
in hand before producing an invoice. But sheer physical distance
can often delay things. It could be several days after delivery
before the signed delivery notes can be processed.
SMS BlueNote speeds up the process!
The driver returns the Order Number to the data center
immediately after the delivery goods has been signed for.
Order Numbers received via SMS BlueNote are passed to the
financial application for automatic processing.

"Will i get my car this afternoon?"
A number of car importers and their dealers have integrated SMS
BlueNote to their ERP system on their AS/400.
The collection time for the car is sent as SMS to the costumer
when the foreman notifies the system that the work on the car is
complete.
Quotes for special repair work are also sent as SMS. The price
is sent to the customer who also has the option to reply and
confirm acceptence.
The dialog is logged on AS/400 minimizing the risk of
unfortunate misunderstandings.
