The BlueFax module
BlueFax is a turnkey fax solution for the iSeries and AS/400 that supports sending, receiving and printing of fax documents.
Any iSeries (AS/400) print spool file can be sent as a fax using BlueFax. Faxes can be sent individually by any
terminal user or they can be sent automatically to a predetermined location.
Faxes can also be sent from attached PC's using any PC word processing system to prepare the text.
With a few simple changes, your system applications can even create output directly to fax.
BlueFax is a turnkey fax product. No special hardware is needed for the iSeries (AS/400). The only prerequisite is a communications port, a telephone line, and a fax modem.
All you need to do to start sending faxes directly from your iSeries (AS/400) is load the software and attach the modem to the system and the phone line. Typical installation time is around 20 minutes.
BlueFax can send output from any iSeries (AS/400) applications with little or no programming changes.
The outbound fax capability is very fast and uses few system resources. Support is included for adding overlay with logos and graphics to outbound faxes.
Faxes can be sent to individual fax destinations or to a list of destinations in a distribution list.
In addition to sending faxes, BlueFax supports receiving, storing and printing faxes.

- Minimum 100 MB disk.
- OS/400 V4R5 or later.
- One telephone line pr. fax line, connected to:
- 9771 Adapter Card with integrated IBM 2771 internal modem.
or
- IBM Internal Single port 2793 modem.
or
- IBM Internal Multi port 2805 modem.
or
- IBM 2761 Internal 8 line modem.
or
- One V.24 line (also known as RS-232) and one external class 2 modem pr. fax line.
We recommend the IBM option
